Hellooooooo, guyssss :D
First of all, I'm going to say that I am really sorry that I don't update this blog regularly :(
I always make a promise to myself that I'm going to update this blog, but it turned out the opposite way :(
Well, let's hope that I will be able to focus on writing on this blog regularly :)
Anyway, today, I'm going to write a review about the newest James Bond's movie called Skyfall (2012) that I just watched with my family. James Bond is the famous British secret agent, created by Ian Fleming, and this year marked the 50th years anniversary of this series. Skyfall is the 23rd James Bond's movie and in this movie, James Bond's loyalty to MI6, his working place, was being tested.
After being shoot by Eve (Naomie Harris), the other secret agent, on one of his mission and pronounced death, James Bond (Daniel Craig) stays in a remote island with disappointment. He thought that M (Judi Dench), his boss in MI6, didn't trust him to successfully finish his job. Nevertheless, his loyalty to MI6 defeated his disappointment to M. Bond decides to go back on his job as a secret agent when he saw that MI6 or in particular, M, was being attacked by unknown enemy. Once again, James Bond had to race with time and prove his loyalty by defeating this unknown enemy.
Actually, I only watched three James Bond's movie, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and lastly, Skyfall. All of these happened to be Daniel Craig's movie as a James Bond. I have watched only a little part of the other movies (not all of the James Bond series), so I guess it doesn't count :p
But, I'm a person with full of curiosity, so I remember I read all of the info about James Bond on a magazine during Pierce Brosnan's era as James Bond and during Quantum of Solace's release date I guess hehehehe.
Anyway, the movie was entertaining!! Sam Mendes did a good job directing this movie. The action scenes were tensed which always made my heartbeat faster hehehehe. This was rather surprising from Sam Mendes because based on what I read on the internet, he mainly directed drama movie. Moreover, I like how the story was being focused on M which never happened in other Bond movies I guess. I absolutely love the dialogues on this movie! It was smart and the sarcasm make me, at least, smile.
For the casts, I think Daniel Craig has get more and more into his character since this is his first time played as James Bond. He also showed more of his funny side on this movie.
But, actually, Judi Dench and Javier Bardem, who played Silva, the villain on this movie, were made me more impressed on this movie.
For Judi Dench, well.....this grandma rocks!! Hahahahaha. As a person with the biggest authority in MI6, she was very charismatic on this movie. I really love her expression, tone of voice, and dialogue on this movie! All of it suits her character very well.
Javier Bardem was also amazed me with his big transformation. I mean I still cannot believe that he is the same man who is being chased by Rebecca Hall, Scarlett Johansson, and Penelope Cruz in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. He successfully made me want to punch his face because of his annoying character as Silva. But, at the same time, he made me scared because of his creepy/psycho character. Bardem also successfully entertain audiences by his sarcasm jokes with Daniel Craig. But, the weakness of his character is that the motive behind his action was not being explained further. I was actually hoping that there will be more explanation about his character rather than only several explanation by M to Bond about Silva.
For the Bond girls' fans, maybe you will feel a little disappoint because they only have a few screen time. Naomie Harris played her character well and (Spoiler Alert!) I was actually curious if she will appear on the next Bond movies since she played a quite significant role on James Bond series history. Meanwhile, I feel like Berence Marlohe, who played as Severine, only become an "additional topping" on this movie. She only has a little screen time and sorry to say, her character can be replaced by other character. But, she was pretty by the way and somehow, she reminds me of Eva Green, maybe because both of them are French actresses.
Ben Whishaw was adorable and refreshing as Q while Ralph Fiennes, well actually I was hoping to see more of him, but maybe they save it for the next movies. But, he still good actually.
Anyway, Skyfall is a recommended movie. For James Bond series fans, you should watch it because it was entertaining and for those of you who are not familiar with this series, you still should watch this because it will make you curious about the other movies!
Memorable Scene(s) : The Opening Credit Scene, The "James Bond vs villain" motorcycle scene, and the court scene.
Rate : 3.8/5
PS : I'm actually planning to write about my "this year concert's review" at December. So, let's hope I'm not too lazy to do that :D
