[MUSIC REVIEW] Girls' Generation - Love&Girls (Japanese Single) (2013)

It's summer time and Girls' Generation (or Shoujo Jidai, that's what Japanese people know them as) is back with their newest single, Love&Girls!!!! Actually, Love&Girls is scheduled to be release on May 29th, 2013, but then it has been pushed back to June 19, 2013. As expected, it leads disappointment to Sones out there, but hold on a second,............. Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Yoona, Sooyoung, and Seohyun has prepared a surprise for all of us with the released of Love&Girls music video on May 17, 2013!!!! Wow...that was fast because as far as I remember, the music video was being released not long after the album delayed announcement. Maybe they already prepared for this to cure Sones disappointment :")

Anyway, let's just watch the music video below and hopefully, the song did not sound as horrible as the title itself :p

Basically, Love&Girls came as a fun upbeat song. It has catchy verses (I love Sunny and Jessica part at the second verse!!!) and memorable hooks (the "na-na-na-na" and "woooo ooo" part) accompanied by the whistle sounds. All of these seems suitable to be the perfect summer song until I heard the refrain part. Sorry to say, but the refrain part comes out as flat and lack of something with its "wooo ooo" part. This is such a let down because the verses and the part before refrain came out as strong that is why the refrain part should be stronger than that. Fortunately, Taeyeon and Sunny "like an alien" and Jessica "brilliant" part make up for the flat refrain part since it was memorable. And I love how they sing this part that sounds sooo pleasant listening. Reminds me with Taeyeon's "aaaa nae wangjanim" part on I Got A Boy, their latest Korean single.

As for the concept itself, woaaahhh....I supersupersuper love this summer concept!! It looks fun and exciting with all of those colorful outfits that they used in the music video. Beside that, I can see that each member enjoyed this concept which is explained why each of them looked great with this concept. Although if I have to choose, I like Taeyeon the most in this concept.

And lastly, for the music video, well, SM Entertainment, why the hell you did not choose to have a music video filming outside for Girls' Generation since a long time ago???? It looks soooo refreshing to see the music video at the outdoor setting instead of watching you modified your studio into several, yet similar setting. I mean how many years it has been for Girls' Generation to have a music video outside a studio? 6 years since Into The New World? Oh, I forget Time Machine has several outdoor settings, so basically, it has been almost 2 years for them to have a music video outside the box. I am sorry guys if I am getting pissed off because seriously, I am getting tired with the usage of box in SM Entertainment music video.

Anyway, like I said earlier, the music video looks refreshing and fun with its colorful theme that basically suitable for summer. I like how they somehow manage to combine these colorful thingy without making viewers got the headache. The flashmob concept itself is not a new thing for them since they already did this with HaHaHa Song in 2009 and apparently, their rival group, Wonder Girls, already made the similar music video with flashmob and colorful theme for their single, Like This, in 2012.

Overall, I love the music video and the concept for Love&Girls since it looks fun , refreshing, and suitable for the summer theme. As for the song itself, despite the lack of something at the refrain part, Love&Girls still comes as a nice song that can make you sing along with your friends through this song. So, what are you waiting for, go get your belongings for holiday and don't forget to listen to this song. Why? Because it's summer time!!!!!! Woooo ooooo wooooo ooooo~~~
